An elderly man and a young girl were shot dead in a feud-related attack in Shikarpur district on Monday, police said.
Armed men opened fire on a house belonging to the Jaffery community in village Aurangabad within the jurisdiction of the New Amrote police station, killing 80-year-old Mehboob Jaffery and nine-year-old Fatima Jaffery, officials said.
Fatima’s mother, Musamat Nooran, was critically injured in the attack and brought to a hospital in Sukkur, police added.
The shooting was believed to be linked to an ongoing dispute between rival factions of the Jaffery community. The attackers fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as of Monday evening. Police investigations were ongoing. No First Information Report (FIR) could be lodged till the time of reporting.
