Seven Alleged India-Backed Militants Eliminated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sweep

Security forces have eliminated seven terrorists, allegedly part of the India-sponsored militant network Fitna Al Khwarij, during a series of major intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing announced on Thursday.

The counter-terrorism actions, conducted on November 18 and 19, targeted militant hideouts in three separate districts. According to the statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were a significant blow to foreign-backed extremist elements in the region.

The first engagement occurred in Mohmand District after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants. Troops conducted an operation that led to an intense exchange of fire, resulting in the neutralization of four insurgents.

In another intelligence-driven action in Lakki Marwat District, security personnel successfully neutralized two more extremists following a brief firefight. A third encounter in Tank District saw one additional terrorist taken down by the forces.

ISPR confirmed that sanitization operations are currently underway in these areas to ensure the complete clearance of any remaining militants.

The statement reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies to the national counter-terrorism campaign. These operations are part of the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, which aims to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
