Awam Pakistan Party Balochistan’s Provincial Convener Syed Aman Shah said that the unemployment situation in Pakistan has worsened to an alarming extent, and according to the latest data, the country’s overall unemployment rate has risen to 7.1 percent. Millions of young, skilled, and educated individuals are facing severe problems due to the lack of employment opportunities.

The party official said that although all provinces are affected, the problem is most severe in Balochistan, where economic slowdown, a decline in investment, and limited industrial activities have exacerbated the crisis. He said that conditions are particularly dire in the remote areas of the province.

According to Shah, this growing crisis is not only closing the doors to the future for the youth but is also weakening the national economy. He called on the government, the private sector, and social institutions to adopt immediate and effective strategies to tackle this challenge, especially in neglected areas.

He demanded that the government launch emergency employment programs for the youth and establish industrial units, technical training centers, and investment zones in Balochistan. The convener also stressed the need for effective measures to promote investment and economic activities across the country.

Shah concluded by saying that non-political, transparent, and people-friendly measures are necessary to overcome this issue, and warned that otherwise, “the rising storm of unemployment will further increase social unrest.”
