Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain met at Al-Safriya Palace and exchanged views on important regional and international issues, including the situation in Palestine and Kashmir. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq condemned the ongoing difficulties in both regions and emphasized the need for a peaceful solution to ensure lasting stability in the region.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the strong historical ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing parliamentary and economic cooperation. Both leaders agreed to promote cooperation between their respective parliaments and exchange legislative knowledge and expertise.
Discussions also covered the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sardar Ayaz Sadiq praised Bahrain’s parliamentary efforts in implementing the SDGs and assured Pakistan’s support for Bahrain’s progress in achieving these goals.
King Hamad congratulated Pakistan on the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement and expressed sorrow over the damage caused by the recent floods in Pakistan, assuring assistance to the victims. He recognized Pakistan’s importance as a military power and a key country in the Islamic world.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq conveyed good wishes from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who wished for Bahrain’s continued development and prosperity. King Hamad reciprocated these sentiments. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also thanked for the hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation.
