PTI Leader Flays Govt’s Inflation Claims

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior leader Mussrat Jamshed Cheema on Sunday criticized the government’s claims of reducing inflation, asserting that the populace is grappling with diminished purchasing power.

Cheema emphasized in a statement that official relief efforts remain confined to rhetoric, as evidenced by traders reporting that 70% of products went unsold during Eid-ul-Fitr.

She highlighted the discrepancy between government claims and reality, pointing to the negligible impact of a Rs 7 per unit reduction in electricity prices following significant hikes. He contrasted this with the past PTI administration’s reduction of electricity costs by Rs 15 per unit under Imran Khan’s leadership.

Cheema also noted that despite a 7% decrease in global crude oil prices, these savings have not been passed on to the public. He urged the government to provide tangible relief rather than self-congratulatory gestures.
