Lawyers belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a demonstration at Karachi City Court on Monday, denouncing recent US strikes in Iran and Israeli actions in Gaza.
The protesters, led by PTI Senior Vice President and member of the Lawyers’ Mobilization and Engagement Committee, Advocate Zahoor Ahmed Mehsud, voiced their support for the people of Iran and Gaza. Prominent legal figures, including Nazirullah Mehsud, Manzoor Bhatta, Barrister Shoaib Khattian, Barrister Sher Ali Siyal, G.M. Azad, Barrister Ahsan Adil Sheikh, and Zahida Kamal Alvi, joined the assembly.
Carrying signs and banners criticizing U.S. and Israeli strategies, the attorneys urged the global community to intervene against the increasing tensions in the Middle East.
Advocate Zahoor Mehsud condemned the U.S. attacks on Iran, calling the United States a ‘terrorist state’ and President Donald Trump ‘the architect of global instability.’ He appealed to the Pakistani government to raise the issue internationally and demand the revocation of Trump”s Nobel Peace Prize nomination, citing his contribution to conflict.
Mehsud asserted that American and Israeli actions endanger not only Iran and Palestine but the entire Muslim world. He argued that U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict would further destabilize the area.
He stressed the importance of solidarity among Muslim nations to counter what he described as imperialist goals in the region. Mehsud declared Pakistan”s support for Iran and Gaza, urging the government to adopt a strong foreign policy backing oppressed peoples. The demonstration ended without incident, with participants cautioning that continued aggression against Muslim countries would result in larger protests.
