Jamaat-e-Islami held protests across Sindh against US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Rallies were taken out on the instructions of Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman. Participants chanted slogans against America, expressed solidarity with Iran, and advocated for jihad.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, protests were held in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and other cities. In addition to Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, representatives of other religious parties and civil society also addressed the demonstrations.
Addressing a rally in Setharja, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Central Deputy Amir Mumtaz Hussain Sahto termed the current situation a religious test for the Muslim world. He presented the conflict not as one between Israel and Iran, but as a broader struggle between Islam and disbelief, and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran.
In Sukkur, Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Deputy Amir Maulana Hizbullah Jakhro and Amanullah Taneo termed any US action against Iran a violation of international law and the UN Charter. They demanded that Trump and Netanyahu be prosecuted in the International Court of Justice for the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and alleged war crimes. They also criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
A protest march was held in Larkana from Jinnah Bagh to the Press Club. Speakers emphasized global Muslim unity against imperialist powers. Similar demonstrations were held in Thatta, Dadu, Kandhkot, and Badin. In Badin, leaders condemned Israel’s alleged violations of international agreements and human rights.
A march was held in Jacobabad from the Jamaat-e-Islami office to the DC office. Protests were also held in Tando Allahyar, Shikarpur, Tando Adam, Mirpur Khas, and Kashmore.
