Pakistan has called for immediate action to address the dire humanitarian crisis in Syria, condemning repeated Israeli incursions into Syrian territory during a United Nations Security Council briefing.
Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian support for over 16 million Syrians. Jadoon emphasized the deplorable conditions faced by Syrian children, who are experiencing widespread hunger, malnutrition, and limited access to essential services like clean water, healthcare, and education. He stressed the necessity of sufficient funding for the UN”s humanitarian response plan.
The Pakistani representative also strongly denounced Israel’s repeated breaches of Syrian sovereignty in Suweida, Daraa, Damascus, and the occupied Syrian Golan. He characterized these actions as flagrant violations of international agreements, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions.
