Pakistan has officially handed over its first consignment of thirty-five tons of humanitarian aid to Myanmar, aiming to support those affected by the recent devastating earthquake.

The aid was presented at Yangon International Airport, with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Imran Haider, and other diplomats from the Pakistan Embassy transferring the relief to the Chief Minister of Yangon Region and the Director General Training of Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority have reaffirmed their commitment to assisting the earthquake-hit communities in Myanmar.

Concurrently, Myanmar’s military declared a temporary ceasefire to facilitate swift relief and reconstruction operations after the earthquake last week. The State Administration Council announced that this ceasefire will remain effective until the 22nd of the month.

The earthquake has resulted in a death toll surpassing 2,800 individuals, highlighting the dire need for international support and relief efforts.
