Pakistan today vehemently refuted India”s account of the recent ‘Operation Sindoor,’ cautioning against escalating tensions and the spread of misinformation.
In a strongly worded statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson denounced India”s portrayal of events as a politically motivated attempt to misrepresent realities, rationalize hostility, and exploit the conflict for domestic political advantage. The spokesperson asserted that India initiated an assault on Pakistan based on unsubstantiated allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident, leading to civilian casualties, including women and children, and failing to meet its strategic goals.
Pakistan highlighted its military”s effective neutralization of Indian fighter aircraft and military installations. The Foreign Office urged Indian authorities to acknowledge their military setbacks and the involvement of external parties in facilitating the ceasefire, rather than disseminating misleading information. The spokesperson also criticized India”s rejection of Pakistan’s proposition for an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam attack, accusing New Delhi of choosing aggression over dialogue.
The Foreign Office dismissed the Indian Home Minister’s narrative of ‘Operation Mahadev’ as fabricated and questioned the timing of the alleged perpetrators’ deaths coinciding with the parliamentary discussion. Pakistan rejected India”s concept of a ‘new normal’ in bilateral ties, emphasizing that true normalcy hinges on mutual respect for sovereignty and international law. While reaffirming its commitment to peace, Pakistan vowed to respond forcefully to any future aggression.
Pakistan characterized India’s allegations of ‘nuclear blackmail’ as a deceptive tactic to divert attention from its own escalatory behavior. The Foreign Office underscored that Pakistan”s defensive strategy is rooted in conventional military strength, governed by principles of restraint and control. The spokesperson also condemned India”s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, labeling it a violation of international accords and detrimental to regional partnership. Pakistan called upon India to immediately honor its treaty commitments.
The Foreign Office warned that India’s reliance on misinformation and aggressive rhetoric risks destabilizing South Asia. Despite provocations, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to peace, regional stability, and constructive dialogue, particularly on the crucial matter of Jammu and Kashmir.
