Pakistan’s Parliament Speaker Urges Peaceful Resolution Of Global Disputes

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, advocated for the peaceful settlement of enduring global conflicts, emphasizing Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with UN Security Council resolutions.

Addressing the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, he urged adherence to these resolutions. Sadiq emphasized the necessity of halting the politicization of humanitarian aid and the implementation of double standards in global affairs to maintain international harmony and fairness. He highlighted that resolving disagreements peacefully is not just a legal requirement but a strategic imperative.

The world, he asserted, must prioritize dialogue, diplomacy, reciprocal respect, and sincere commitment to the UN Charter. Sadiq also called for immediate financial system reforms. He envisioned a structure that bolsters economic stability, lessens disparity, and fosters progress for developing nations.

The Speaker further underscored the crucial need to restructure and revitalize the UN, specifically the Security Council, to enhance representation, democracy, efficiency, openness, and accountability to all member states.
