Interior Minister visits Islamabad cattle market ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Friday paid a visit to the cattle market set up along the Islamabad Expressway in preparation for Eid-ul-Adha.

During his visit, the Interior Minister issued several key directives aimed at facilitating both traders and visitors. The Minister ordered the allocation of a designated parking area to manage traffic flow and ease congestion.

He also directed a reasonable reduction in the per-animal fee being charged at the cattle market. He inspected the overall arrangements, including sanitation and cleanliness measures in the mandi, and reviewed the facilities provided for both traders and citizens.

The Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring sufficient lighting and an uninterrupted water supply within the cattle market premises.

During interactions with cattle traders from across the country, Minister Naqvi inquired about the quality of arrangements and listened to their concerns.

Responding to the traders’ request, he immediately ordered an expansion of the cattle market area to accommodate more livestock and improve comfort for visitors.

Noting the current weather conditions, traders informed the Minister that footfall remains low during the daytime, with most customers preferring to visit in the evening or at night.

The Minister showed special interest in a striking white bull on display, praising its appearance. According to the trader, the bull weighs over 14 maunds (approximately 525 kg) and is priced at Rs1.8 million.

The Interior Minister also interacted with citizens visiting the market. Upon their request, he directed immediate repairs to the nearby pedestrian crossing bridge for improved public access.
