The federal government has announced an increase in natural gas tariffs for select sectors, effective July 1, 2025. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has confirmed the price revisions for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Under the new tariff structure, bulk consumers, the processing sector, and power generation entities will face higher energy costs. Both protected and unprotected domestic consumers will also see a rise in their monthly fixed charges.
However, OGRA clarified that there will be no change in gas prices for other consumer categories. These include various residential slabs, roti tandoors, commercial establishments, captive power plants, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations, cement factories, and fertilizer manufacturers.
