Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Musarat Jamshed Cheema condemned the decision in the reserved seats review case, saying that, God willing, the 26th amendment will one day be abolished and the subsequent Supreme Court that comes into existence will acknowledge that this decision was based on injustice. Cheema criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), accusing them of long-standing tactics to gain political advantages.
Cheema declared PTI’s intention to appeal against what she termed vote theft in the “people’s court.” She highlighted the negative implications of the decision on justice, the public vote, and representation, alluding to vague warnings regarding the potential consequences of ongoing political oppression.
The PTI leader further criticized the distribution of reserved seats, equating it to the distribution of spoils among parties deprived of a public mandate, thereby undermining democratic principles. Cheema concluded her statement by asserting that attempts to remove Imran Khan from Pakistani politics would ultimately prove futile, regardless of the actions taken by those in power.
