The birthday of Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III, an important figure of the subcontinent’s freedom movement and the first president of the Muslim League, was celebrated with reverence and respect across the country on Monday.

On this occasion, a special article based on the life and services of the great leader was read out in Ismaili Jamaat Khanas to commemorate his services.

The 48th Imam of the Ismaili community, Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, was born in Karachi. He played an important role in the political and social landscape of the Indo-Pak subcontinent.

As a strong supporter of education, his efforts were instrumental in the establishment of the region’s first Islamic university, Aligarh University. His focus on public welfare led to the foundation of numerous schools and hospitals to advance public education and health in various countries, including Pakistan.
