Democracy Guarantees Human Rights, National Strength, And Bright Future: Senate Chairman

Acting Chairman Senate, Syedal Khan, declared democracy as crucial for safeguarding human rights, bolstering national power, and securing a prosperous future for Pakistan in his Democracy Day message on Monday. He described democracy as a manifestation of shared knowledge, citizen ambitions, and a robust system for protecting fundamental rights, empowering citizens by amplifying their voices and transforming their aspirations into government policies.

Khan traced Pakistan’s democratic path, noting the nation’s founders prioritized public will and democratic struggle in the pursuit of freedom and sovereignty. He invoked Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of parliamentary democracy as a guiding principle, urging the nation to continue his mission.

He commended the leadership of PML-N leaders, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for their contributions to fortifying the nation’s democratic framework. He positioned democracy as essential not only for national advancement but also for global harmony, economic steadiness, and international collaboration. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to upholding justice, the rule of law, human rights, and democratic principles.

The Acting Chairman emphasized the importance of sustained democracy for Pakistan to navigate economic hurdles, extremism, and security risks. He asserted that Pakistan’s strength and sovereignty hinge on Parliament reflecting the public mandate, state institutions fulfilling their constitutional duties, and ensuring transparency and accountability.

Khan concluded by calling Democracy Day a chance to renew the spirit of unity, tolerance, and public service, reminding the nation of its commitment to build a just Pakistan where human dignity is safeguarded and public opinion is valued. This, he said, is the true essence of democracy and the best assurance of Pakistan’s future.
