Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is spearheading Pakistan’s representatives at the three-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting commencing today in Tianjin, China.

Invited by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Dar’s participation marks a significant presence for Pakistan at this vital international gathering. The CFM meeting will see the attendance of top diplomats from all SCO member nations, including Pakistan, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Notably, the Belarusian Foreign Minister will attend the CFM meeting for the first time as a full member of the SCO.

The Council of Foreign Ministers stands as the third most important assembly within the SCO framework. In addition to the main sessions, Dar is also scheduled to conduct bilateral discussions with his counterparts from various nations on the sidelines of the summit.
