Reko Diq copper-gold mine offers a multi-generational chance for sustained economic and social advancement for local Balochistan communities, Barrick Gold Corporation CEO Mark Bristow declared during a visit to Humai village, near the project location.

Bristow emphasized Reko Diq Mining Company’s (RDMC) dedication to empowering the Balochistan populace through jobs, training, and healthcare programs.

He highlighted employment creation through RDMC and its partner firms. “Currently, 75% of our staff are from Balochistan – mostly from Chagai District – and we intend to enhance this local representation,’ Bristow stated. Skills development programs are underway to prepare local residents for these positions.

RDMC has also invested in regional healthcare, including a Health Clinic and a new Mother and Child Health Center in Humai, providing primary and specialized maternal care for the first time.

Bristow stressed the vital role of local communities in the project”s triumph. “Meaningful advancement of this world-class resource requires the active involvement and support of local residents,” he noted.

Humai village Chief Liaqat Malik and Par-e-Koh Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman Taj Muhammad expressed gratitude for Bristow’s engagement and acknowledged RDMC”s contributions to Humai. They pledged community support for the project. Bristow was accompanied by senior RDMC leaders including Country Manager Zarrar Jamali, General Manager Ryan Mitchell, and other project team members.
