Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is currently on an official visit to the United States (US), where he engaged with the Pakistani diaspora in Washington DC during a special interaction session, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement here on Tuesday.
The Army Chief received a warm welcome from a large number of overseas Pakistanis who gathered to meet him. The community expressed strong support and appreciation for the Armed Forces, particularly acknowledging their professionalism and bravery during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos / Marka-e-Haq.
During the interaction, General Asim Munir lauded the significant role played by overseas Pakistanis in uplifting the image and economy of Pakistan. He praised their contributions through remittances, foreign investments, and outstanding achievements across various global sectors.
Calling the diaspora ‘ambassadors of Pakistan,’ the COAS emphasized the importance of sustained engagement and collaboration between the military leadership and overseas communities. He noted that such partnerships are essential to overcoming shared challenges and fostering mutual progress.
Community members also shared their experiences, concerns, and suggestions with the Army Chief. The discussion concluded with a joint commitment to work together for a secure, prosperous, and resilient Pakistan. The visit underscores the Army’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the Pakistani diaspora and recognize their pivotal role in national development.
