CM Bugti says insurgency has no link with backwardness

BEKAR: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on Friday that steps were being taken on good faith to address the problems being faced by the people, adding it would take time to streamline severely mismanaged governance system of the province.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, these views were expressed by him while talking to people in the open court held in Bekar area of district Dera Bughti on the third day of Eid.

He said that since he was from the people, hence, he was cognisant of the people’s problems, adding that by utilising the funds allocated for health sector of the province, every citizen of the province could be treated in the most expensive hospital of the country.

If budget of education sector was spent on every child of the province, every child could seek education in the most expensive private educational institution of the country. Bughti said it would have to be determined as to how allocated funds were being utilised, adding that resources of the people would have to be utilised on people by curbing corruption.

He said accountability of elements involved in corruption was inevitable. He said that it was essential to know the issue of Balochistan, adding that Balochistan’s insurgency did not have any relations with backwardness of the province. He remarked it was to be observed as to who was benefiting from the insurgency of Balochistan, adding that people’s problems were due to the wrong utilisation of public exchequer.
