The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar Haq, has announced the introduction of a health card to address significant health issues in the region, marking a significant development. The coalition, comprising members of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League (N), and Forward Bloc, held a meeting on June 10, 2023, to strategize the introduction of the health card in the upcoming fiscal year. This initiative is considered a crucial step in providing accessible medical services to the people of Azad Kashmir, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving the health infrastructure.
Beyond health, the meeting also focused on the strategic agenda for the 2025 budget, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strategically highlighting the Kashmir issue. The coalition reiterated its commitment to the Kashmir independence movement, declaring it the government’s top priority and pledging to mobilize all available resources for this cause.
To enhance governance, the coalition pledged to expedite the completion of ongoing mega projects and ensure equitable distribution of development funds in the upcoming budget. This approach aims to promote equal development among the youth and skilled individuals in the state and the refugee community in Pakistan.
The assembly strongly condemned India’s aggressive maneuvers, which are seen as a threat to regional stability, while praising Pakistan’s peaceful stance. A detailed mechanism was proposed to tackle challenges such as the annulment of the Indus Water Treaty and ongoing hostilities along the Line of Control.
Prime Minister Anwar Haq assured the public of the government’s revolutionary measures to alleviate public hardships, emphasizing the provision of free health services through the health card. He declared improvements in healthcare as the government’s priority, expressing a commitment to continuous efforts for public welfare.
The Prime Minister also commended the administration’s achievements, including subsidies on essential commodities like flour and electricity, and acknowledged the services of Pakistan’s armed forces.
