Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is functioning under the established rules and parliamentary traditions. He emphasized that all legislative proceedings are conducted in accordance with the assembly’s guiding principles. Points of order and attention notices facilitate purposeful debate through established procedures. Despite the budget’s approval, deliberations will continue until the passage of the finance bill in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and at the national level.

Prime Minister Haq highlighted the importance of debate and dissent for a vibrant legislative body. He clarified that although the rules were temporarily suspended for two days, they have been restored, providing equal speaking opportunities to members from both the government and opposition regarding the budget. He welcomed constructive suggestions for budget amendments and acknowledged the continued receipt of supplementary funds. The Prime Minister assured the assembly that every representative will be given the opportunity to express their views on the 20252026 budget and valuable input will be considered. Addressing an attention notice, he pledged to resolve the matter of preserving historical sites, promising to gather data and provide a comprehensive response to the assembly.
