The 20th ANF Poster Competition Exhibition opened today at the Sadequain Gallery, Frere Hall, Karachi, with Force Commander RD ANF Sindh, Brigadier Umer Farooq, as the chief guest. The event presented impactful artwork by students from multiple schools, creatively focusing on the theme of a drugfree society.
Brig. Umer Farooq, during his keynote address, praised the students” artistic talents and the significant messages their posters conveyed. He commented on the creative brilliance and social consciousness demonstrated by the young participants through their artwork. Brig. Farooq stressed that the competition not only highlighted artistic skills but also spread an essential message about the destructive nature of drugs on individuals and society.
He spoke about the power of art in driving social change and called for international recognition of such initiatives. Brig. Farooq asserted that these thoughtprovoking pieces deserved promotion on global platforms to spread the message of a drugfree and healthy society.
Additionally, Brig. Farooq announced that all participating students would receive certificates of appreciation from ANF, recognizing their role in raising awareness. He motivated teachers and students to engage in upcoming activities for the International Day Against Drug Abuse in June, underscoring the importance of youth as the future of Pakistan. He expressed his satisfaction seeing their awareness and readiness to contribute to a drugfree society.
The exhibition concluded with Brig. Farooq touring the gallery and engaging with the students.
