OKARA:A 10-year-old girl was gang-raped in Hujra Shah Muqeem, a suburban town of Depalpur near Okara, police on Sunday. Pedophiles took Maryam Bibi, daughter of Muhammad Shafi, a resident of Noor Elahi village and a labourer by profession, to a deserted place at gunpoint and gang-raped her for nine days.
The FIR, registered on the complaint of victim’s mother, stated that the girl managed to break free from the clutches of rapists as soon as she got a chance. Family of the child has protested against the incident and demanded Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab to bring pthe erpetrators of the crime to justice.
