Pakistan will continue supporting Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination: Envoy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram has said Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and support to the people of Kashmir till realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolutions.

In his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, he said the United Nations, especially the Security Council, has an abiding responsibility to deliver its promise made with the people of Kashmir seventy three years ago.

He said, on this day in 1949, the UN Commission for India and Pakistan adopted the historic resolution, calling for a free and impartial plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. Ambassador Munir Akram said extremist Hindutva regime of India has deployed nine hundred thousand troops in occupied Kashmir, who are responsible for unleashing a brutal reign of terror in the held territory.
