KARACHI: Directorate of Licensing and Registration, Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHC) started a massive registration drive in Sindh province.

Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation, Sindh Healthcare Commission started massive registration drive in Sindh. In this drive team consisting of the higher officials of Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation are visiting Healthcare Facilities on daily basis. In such visits these officials explained the process of registration and licensing to doctors which include providing registration and provisional license forms with fee structure.

As under section 13 of SHCC Act a healthcare service provider shall not provide healthcare services without being registered with SHCC. Without registering their healthcare facility, they would be considered as illegal. The Team visited District Sujawal and checked 35 healthcare facilities of Jatti, Shah Aqiq, Chohar Jamali, Gharo, Mir Pur Sakhro and Jamali and Buhara.

Director Licensing and Accreditation, Dr Altaf Hussain Khawaja said that there is a need to accelerate the Registration process of healthcare facilities without which such facilities would be considered illegal and hence charged with fines.
