LMC daily wage drivers unpaid for four months

LARKANA: The daily wages drivers of heavy machinery of Larkana Municipal Corporation (LMC) Tuesday protested at Jinnah Bagh for the second consecutive day for not being paid for the past four months.

Ashique Jatoi, Khair Muhammad Abbasi, Shahid Hussain Larik and others alleged that they were working in the LMC since past 11 years on daily wages basis and were monthly paid fixed amount of Rs10,000 which too had not been disbursed to them since last four months forcing their family members to undergo hunger.

They said the Sindh government had fixed minimum monthly wage for labourers at Rs25,000 but they were still awaiting when this decision would be implemented in letter and spirit. They said their services should also be regularized as LMC had so many vacant posts. They urged the higher provincial government authorities to consider their demands and issue orders for their implementation.
