NAUNDERO: Robbers shot dead a youth when he offered resistance to them during a robbery near Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday.

According to details, three unknown armed muggers tried to snatch a bike from 17-year Safiullah Bhutto near Garhi Khuda Bux, but he resisted following which they shot and injured him critically. He was rushed to the government hospital of the town where he succumbed to his injuries. The 100-bed government hospital, Naundero, which has no emergency treatment or surgery facilities since beginning.

The heirs and relatives of the deceased took his body, staged a sit-in on Ratodero-Naundero Road and held a protest demonstration against Garhi Khuda Bux police. They shouted slogans against police failure to maintain law and order, curb crimes and criminals with the iron hand of law.

Protesters Abdul Karim Bhutto, Javed Bhutto, and others alleged that Garhi Khuda Bux police had completely failed to eliminate criminals and maintain peace in the area. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
