KARACHI:A woman and child died as a bike carrying four family members slipped into a drain during rain in Shadman Town area of Karachi on late Sunday night. However, father and other kid were rescued.

Rescue officials said that four members of a family, including the husband, wife and two children, were travelling on a motorbike in Shadman Town when their bike slipped due to rain and fell into it. The woman and a child died while a man and a kid were rescued.

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, who reached the incident site, blamed the local authorities for the unfortunate incident as saying that their negligence had claimed more precious lives in the metropolitan.
