Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, engaged in discussions with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, focusing on advancements in the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) railway initiative.

A declaration from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed the conversation. The two diplomats examined the headway made on the framework agreement for the ambitious rail link. The UAP railway is poised to significantly enhance regional connectivity and trade.

Minister Dar and Minister Saidov also scheduled a follow-up meeting. The two are slated to convene again during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers gathering in Tianjin, China. This upcoming session will provide a further opportunity for high-level discussions on the project.
