The United Nations has released six hundred thousand dollars for relief of flood victims in Pakistan, signaling an urgent humanitarian response as deadly flash floods triggered by heavy rains affect various areas.

UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters at the regular briefing that Pakistani authorities are taking appropriate measures with support from the United Nations and local partners.

A team of UN officials is expected to conduct a survey to assess flood damages tomorrow.
