The Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Prof Dr Shahid Munir (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), participated in a significant commemorative event at Mazar-e-Iqbal, where he strongly emphasised the paramount importance of national unity and unwavering commitment to the defence and security of the homeland.
The gathering marked the first anniversary of the “Battle of Truth – Bunyan Marsous,” a success deemed historic, with the programme including a solemn and spiritually enriching ceremony.
Prominent figures from academic, educational, and social sectors were in attendance. Professor Dr. Munir paid homage by laying a floral wreath at the mausoleum, offering prayers for national progress, stability, and intellectual advancement.
In his address, Professor Dr. Munir articulated that “Battle of Truth – Bunyan Marsous” transcends mere achievement; it represents a powerful symbol of national resolve, intellectual cohesion, and collective awareness. He highlighted that this one-year milestone served as an opportune moment to reaffirm this national pledge.
He further noted that the timeless wisdom of Allama Iqbal continues to inspire selfhood, solidarity, and decisive action – values intrinsically aligned with the essence of this national triumph.
Professor Dr. Munir underscored that, presently, the entire nation stands united, akin to an impenetrable bulwark (Bunyan Marsous), under the stewardship of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He affirmed the nation”s readiness to make every conceivable sacrifice for the homeland”s protection, asserting that this unity constitutes Pakistan”s genuine strength.
He also urged the country”s youth to embrace Iqbal”s philosophy of “Khudi” (self-awareness) and to pursue excellence diligently in their academic pursuits, research endeavours, and character development, thereby contributing to the creation of a strong and respected Pakistani nation.
The ceremony concluded with participants collectively reaffirming their dedication to fostering national development, intellectual enlightenment, and positive societal values.
