A high-level Turkish delegation, representing key players in aviation and defence, has expressed strong interest in establishing manufacturing facilities and pursuing joint ventures within Pakistan, signaling a potential major boost for the nation”s high-tech industrial sector.

According to official information today, the delegation, led by Ahmet Khan, who serves as a Group CEO and Pakistan’s Honorary Investment Counselor in Trkiye, held discussions with Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, in the capital on Thursday.

Comprising senior professionals from Trkiye’s advanced industries, the group represented sectors including aircraft manufacturing, aerospace engineering, drone technology, defence systems, and automotive engineering.

The Turkish representatives conveyed a clear intention to pursue technology transfer and build industrial capabilities through partnerships in Pakistan, briefing the minister on their nation”s rapidly advancing aviation and defence industries.

Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan welcomed the proposals, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its industrial and economic relationship with Trkiye.

He highlighted Pakistan’s established engineering base and rich deposits of critical minerals as significant assets for cooperation in aerospace, defence production, and dual-use manufacturing.

The Commerce Minister encouraged the Turkish firms to view Pakistan as a strategic production and export partner, offering a gateway to regional and global markets such as ASEAN, Africa, the Gulf, and South Asia.

The potential for trilateral and multilateral partnerships leveraging the strengths of both countries was also underscored by the minister.

He briefed the visiting group on Pakistan’s supportive initiatives, including the development of an expanded Expo Centre in Karachi and increased institutional coordination between the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Defence Production.

The Turkish delegation appreciated Pakistan’s strategic vision and expressed readiness for long-term cooperation across multiple high-tech fields. They also showed interest in strengthening banking and trade facilitation mechanisms to underpin future collaboration.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to advance sector-specific engagements, support direct business-to-business linkages, and explore investment-led industrial partnerships to enhance bilateral trade and technological cooperation.
