Islamabad residents have until October 1st to secure valid driving licenses or face penalties, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) announced. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun warned of stern measures against those driving without the required documentation after the deadline, including legal proceedings, apprehension, and vehicle seizure.

The CTO emphasized the impartiality of the impending operation, stating that no exemptions would be made based on social standing. He assured the public that the ITP would provide maximum support for license acquisition until the October 1st cutoff.

Licenses are available at the Faizabad Traffic Office, the F-6 Facilitation Center, and via mobile traffic assistance units. It is mandatory for motorists to possess a physical copy of their license, as digital versions will not be recognized.

Humayun underscored the dangers of driving without a license, highlighting the risks to both the driver and the public. He appealed to residents to prioritize responsible behavior and avoid penalties. The CTO reiterated the ITP’s commitment to upholding public safety.
