The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue. He stated that the organization should exert pressure on India and impose economic sanctions to halt the ongoing atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood emphasized that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Referring to a false flag operation by India in Pahalgam, he noted that Pakistan responded effectively.
He further stated that war is not a solution to any problem, and the Kashmir issue is the primary cause of the conflict between Pakistan and India. Resolving this issue is essential for peace in South Asia.
The President of Azad Kashmir mentioned that during the recent PakistanIndia tensions, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other countries played significant roles in the ceasefire. He urged the international community to assist in granting the Kashmiris their right to selfdetermination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
He also referenced India’s abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, stating that India intends to govern occupied Kashmir from Delhi. Barrister Sultan Mahmood emphasized that the OIC should use its influence on this issue.
