Syed Ali Geelani was the powerful voice of occupied Kashmir: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir

President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, paid tribute to Syed Ali Geelani on his death anniversary, saying that Syed Ali Geelani was the powerful voice of occupied Kashmir. He spent the last twelve years of his life in the worst state of illness, imprisoned by the cruel enemy India, but his steadfastness did not waver. His lifelong struggle for the freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir is commendable.

In his message, President Chaudhry said that Syed Ali Geelani bravely faced imprisonment and hardships from his youth until his last breath for the sake of freedom. He said that Geelani was the voice of occupied Kashmir, who endured twelve years of imprisonment and the difficulties of illness under Indian custody.

President Chaudhry said that despite the dire need for medical assistance, Syed Ali Geelani remained under house arrest, and his attachment to Pakistan and the Kashmiri freedom movement never wavered. He said that Syed Ali Geelani was a staunch supporter of accession to Pakistan and a symbol of steadfastness; his entire life reflects the struggle for the freedom of Kashmiris. His passion for freedom from Indian rule remained until his death.

President Chaudhry pledged to continue Syed Ali Geelani’s mission and to struggle for the freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
