KARACHI:The Sindh Secretariat has become a scrapyard of official old, useless, wrecked and junked vehicles on Saturday.
Apart from the main secretariat, the KDA building, Old KDA building and Block V have also become scrapyard of old, useless and wrecked vehicles. The bureaucracy has ignored the orders issued by the chief secretary in this regard. These old and useless vehicles have not been properly disposed of so far.
The vehicles have been abandoned in these scrapyards and a majority of these vehicles are without number plates. The Sindh Secretariat barracks are also housing now useless and wrecked official vehicles making them as a graveyard of vehicles.
In Block V, huge quantity of abandoned wrecked official vehicles can be seen. The authorities have completely ignored orders of Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Sohail in this regard and these vehicles have not been properly disposed of.
Local Government Department, Information Department, Planning and Development and Education Department’s vehicles have been left abandoned. Inter-Provincial coordination department and Women Development Department vehicles are also resting at scrapyard of Sindh Secretariat. Among vehicles, there can be seen Corola, Cultus, Mehran, Pajero high roof and others. Majority of vehicles have no number plates as well.
The DMC East Ground was specified for disposal of the useless official vehicles. The Chief Secretary Secretariat said that vehicles of Services and General Administration had already been disposed of. The Secretariat further said that other departments should also realize their responsibilities and dispose of their vehicles.
