Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today hosted a delegation from the 27th National Security Workshop at the Chief Minister’s House and announced Sindh’s ambitious development agenda, with a budget exceeding one trillion rupees for the fiscal year 2025-26. The momentous occasion highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to fostering collaboration between the civil administration and national security institutions.

The workshop delegation, comprising 95 members and led by Major General Muhammad Raza, engaged in discussions with provincial leaders such as Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah and IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon. Chief Minister Shah emphasized the significance of the meeting, highlighting the importance of effective communication between the civilian and national security sectors.

Murad Ali Shah detailed Sindh’s comprehensive and ecological development strategy, and highlighted key initiatives such as the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF), the world’s largest housing reconstruction project. SPHF aims to restore 2.1 million flood-damaged homes, along with providing employment opportunities by opening over 1.3 million accounts for the affectees.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted ongoing urban development efforts in Karachi and the transformative impact of the solid waste project on the city’s sanitation system. The Delta Blue Carbon project, which helps earn foreign exchange through carbon credits, was also noted as part of Sindh’s environmental restoration efforts.

The meeting also focused on local government reforms and the expansion of road networks and mass transit systems, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing public services and supporting economic growth. Shah stressed the crucial role of environmental adaptation and sustainable development in national security, and supported strong civil-military liaison.

The participants of the National Security Workshop praised Sindh’s development, acknowledging the government’s efforts in climate change mitigation and infrastructure development. The gathering served as a platform to recognize the critical interdependence of development and security for a prosperous Sindh.
