Pakistan has witnessed significant advancements in its industrial, tourism, and privatization sectors, thanks to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The SIFC has significantly reduced industrial approval times by 35%, boosting investor trust. This improved efficiency has attracted international partnerships, such as Build Your Dreams” collaboration with Pakistani firms for electric vehicle manufacturing. The local startup, ‘BookMe’, has also broadened its operations into Saudi Arabia.
The tourism sector has also experienced growth, with the revitalization of 44 guest houses in Gilgit-Baltistan, creating 4,000 environmentally friendly tourism positions. Sindh”s tourism initiatives at Keenjhar Lake and Gorakh Hills showcase successful public-private collaborations. Expanding the visa-on-arrival program to 126 nations, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is expected to further stimulate tourism and investment.
Privatization efforts have gained traction with seven global corporations showing interest in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The government is also preparing to outsource the management of airports in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
