KARACHI: Former pace king Shoaib Akhtar says Pakistan can win the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Shoaib Akhtar said that Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and West Indies will dominate in the UAE conditions in T20 World Cup while talking to an Indian channel.
“Pakistan can’t be ruled out in the shortest format,” said Akhtar. “I think Pakistan and India can meet in the final.”
He said that UAE has been a home away from home for Pakistan for a long time. The players have great experience in the UAE conditions.
Akhtar added that England batsmen struggle against spinners in UAE so do New Zealanders.
“Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and West Indies can all qualify for the knock-out stage of the T20 World Cup,” he added.
Pakistan are placed in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup alongside India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two other qualifying teams. The event is all set to start on October 17 in UAE and Oman.
