KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Women Development Syeda Shehla Raza while taking notice of jumping of a woman with her children at Jamrao Canal Sanghar over a domestic dispute, has sought the details of the incident from the Deputy Director of Women Development Department Sanghar.
She also contacted DIG Shaheed Benazirabad Irfan Ali Baloch and instructed him to investigate the tragic incident, according to a handout. While quoting the media reports, she said that the woman was suffering from day and night violence from her husband after which she took extreme measures and jumped into the canal along with her two children. AccorHer husband also jumped into the canal to save her, who was saved by divers. The body of a child was recovered while the search for woman and another child was going on. She directed DIG Irfan Baloch to conduct a thorough investigation into all the possible motives behind the incident and if there was any violation of the Domestic Violence Act in the incident, a case should be registered against the husband.
