Senator Abdul Shakoor Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurances and a prominent leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, represented Pakistan at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s (APA) Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development in Manama, Bahrain. The assembly convened representatives from various Asian parliaments to discuss bolstering regional economic partnerships, exploring growth prospects, and furthering the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Addressing the assembly, Senator Achakzai stressed the significance of collaborative regional initiatives to promote economic progress and sustainability. He highlighted the critical need for enhanced prospects and funding for developing economies, empowering them to engage fairly in the international marketplace and elevate their citizens’ living standards.
Senator Achakzai’s engagement in this important international forum showcased Pakistan’s viewpoint on a global stage, and brought honor to Balochistan, especially his native district of Qilla Abdullah.
