Seminar held at Agriculture University, Tandojam, awareness given on Prime Minister’s ‘Apna Ghar’ program

A seminar held today at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, aimed to inform government officials about the significant benefits available under the Prime Minister’s “Apna Ghar” housing program, which is a key initiative for the welfare of government employees. The event was organized in collaboration with the House Building Finance Corporation, providing important information about affordable home ownership.

Vice Chancellor Professor Engineer Dr. Altaf Ali Sial, who presided over the proceedings, termed this initiative a significant step towards improving the quality of life for state employees. He emphasized that secure housing directly contributes to enhancing staff’s quality of life and job satisfaction. Dr. Sial further added that such programs strengthen the financial stability of government employees and enhance their professional performance, adding that the university is committed to providing timely information to its staff about beneficial government schemes.

Sarfraz Ahmed Saraz, who was the regional representative and main presenter in this session, explained the “Apna Ghar” scheme. He described it as an important relief-oriented initiative designed to facilitate home ownership for government officers and staff, especially for the low and middle-income segments, through accessible financial assistance.

Mr. Saraz explained that this scheme includes manageable payment schedules, a simplified application process, and adaptable repayment structures, all designed to reduce the financial burden on public sector employees. He also provided attendees with detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, required documents, and the comprehensive application procedure.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Chairman Students and Faculty Liaison Program, emphasized the importance of such awareness briefings. He stated that these sessions are essential for empowering government employees to make informed financial decisions, reflecting a commitment to staff welfare and sustainable institutional development.

The informative gathering concluded with a question and answer session, during which Sarfraz Ahmed Saraz assured participants of ongoing support and guidance in availing the program’s provisions. A large number of university faculty, officers, and administrative staff attended the event, demonstrating significant interest in benefiting from the housing scheme.
