Saudi Envoy, CJP vow to foster bilateral partnerships in Justice

Saudi Arabia’S Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, met with Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Justice Yahya Afridi, at the Supreme Court on Friday to discuss strengthening judicial ties.

Chief Justice Afridi greeted the ambassador and emphasized the strong, enduring relationship between the two nations, founded on shared religious beliefs, mutual admiration, and extensive collaboration.

The officials examined ways to improve bilateral partnerships in the justice sector. A key focus was broadening judicial collaboration, aligning with Saudi Arabia”s Vision 2030, especially in legal modernization and institutional advancements.

Both parties recognized the benefits of reciprocal learning from their respective judicial frameworks and practices. They considered joint training initiatives, exchanges between judicial academies, and capacity development programs to provide legal professionals with contemporary skills and comparative legal knowledge.

Discussions also encompassed the creation of specialized commercial and labor tribunals, modernization of legal procedures, cooperative research in Islamic jurisprudence, and interfaith dialogue through comparative legal analyses.

The possibility of initiating dialogues on specific legal topics and organizing a Regional Judicial Conference was also suggested. The Chief Justice reiterated Pakistan”s dedication to reinforcing institutional connections with the Saudi judiciary, underscoring that common legal principles are crucial for promoting justice, legal order, and regional security.
