Former provincial minister and senator Sassui Palijo has strongly criticized the unavailability of Sindh’s share of water and the statements made by federal ministers of the PML-N against Sindh. She stated that the people of Sindh are struggling for their rights, while the role of IRSA has become questionable.
Speaking to journalists in Makli, Sassui Palijo said that Punjab is unlawfully taking water from Sindh, and the people of Sindh are yearning even for drinking water. Due to the shortage of water, there is migration from coastal areas.
She further stated that the PML-N government has been established with the votes and support of the PPP, and elected representatives should play their role in stopping illegal canals.
Criticizing the decisions of the CCI meeting, she said there is nothing in them to be congratulated about. She also mentioned PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s opposition to the controversial canal project.
Sassui Palijo said that the people of Sindh, nationalists, lawyers, journalists, and Sindh-supporting parties have played a key role in the canal struggle. She objected to the language used by Punjab politicians against Sindh and appealed to the higher leadership to take notice.
She said that the protest movement against the usurpation of Sindh’s water and land is ongoing, and the voice of the people of Sindh must be heard.
