KARACHI: Russian Consul General in Karachi Andrey Viktorovich Fedorov called on Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Investment and Public Private Partnership Projects Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar in the office of Sindh Investment Department here on Wednesday.

Russian Consulate’s Trade Representative Mr. Ruslan Aliev and other officers of Russian Consulate in Karachi were also present in the meeting besides Provincial Secretary Investment Department Sindh Syed Mansoor Abbas Rizvi, Director General Public Private Partnership Unit Mr. Asad Zamin and other officers of Sindh Investment Department were also in attendance.

On this occasion, matters of mutual interests and trade and investment opportunities were also discussed. Qamar while talking to the delegation said that Founder Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto had considered relations with Russia of superior importance.

“Present Government of Pakistan and Foreign Minister Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also striving to strengthen relations with Russia in different sectors of bilateral interest,” said Special Assistant to CM Sindh Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar. Mr. Qasim Naveed Qamar and the officials concerned of Sindh Investment Department also presented a detailed briefing to the Russian delegation regarding investment opportunities in Sindh Province.

Russian Consul General thanked the warm welcome accorded to the Russian delegation on its arrival in Sindh Investment Department. He also appreciated the comprehensive briefing given by the officers of Sindh Investment Department and showed interest in agriculture, transport and waste to energy projects and suggested that for the permanent coordination and for further consultation about today’s meeting focal person from both sides to be nominated. On this occasion focal persons from both sides were nominated.
