Punjab’s Health and Education Budget Exceeds the Entire Budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Punjab Information Minister

Punjab’s Information Minister, Uzma Bukhari, claimed in response to recent criticism by PTI leader Barrister Saif that the funds allocated for health and education in Punjab exceed the total budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During a press conference, she highlighted revolutionary initiatives such as free medicines in public hospitals, mobile clinics, and special health centers named after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz under her leadership in Punjab.

Bukhari emphasized the practical implementation of Punjab’s budget, stating that expensive medications for deadly diseases like cancer and tuberculosis were directly distributed to patients’ homes, evidencing the government’s commitment to public welfare. She pointed out that patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are coming to Punjab in search of reliable medical services, highlighting the trust and reliance on the healthcare system under the current administration.

Responding to Barrister Saif’s narrative, Bukhari criticized him for focusing on defaming Punjab and failing to address the weaknesses of his own provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of misusing their budget for internal politics instead of public service, which starkly contrasts with Punjab’s direct benefit delivery of funds to the public.

Bukhari questioned the transparency and efficiency of the leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as their capability to serve the public interest and achieve successes. In her concluding remarks, she praised Maryam Nawaz and her administration for setting new standards in governance and public service, which strengthened the government’s dedication to the citizens.
