13-year-old kidnapped boy Zayan, was recovered as the local police dramatically arrested the culprits while they were collecting a ransom of 25 million rupees. The culprits were using a SIM card from the Philippines to make contact.
According to the police, Zayan, the son of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan candidate, Muhammad Altaf, was kidnapped from his home on Monday night. Under the leadership of DPO Okara, Muhammad Rashid Hidayat, the police used modern technology to recover Zayan within eight hours.
In a press conference, RPO Sahiwal Mehmood Rashid and DPO Okara Rashid Hidayat stated that the culprits kidnapped Zayan and demanded a ransom of 25 million rupees. The police, using modern technology, surrounded the culprits and arrested five of them at the time of ransom payment.
The car, weapons, SIM card, and other items used by the culprits were also recovered. The arrested individuals are close relatives of the child, hailing from the Pakpattan district. Charges related to ransom will be added to their case.
RPO Sahiwal and DPO Okara mentioned that under the Safe Punjab vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, a zero-tolerance policy is being implemented concerning crimes against women and children.
