Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the establishment of special helplines and rehabilitation centers aimed at eradicating child labor in the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation led by Director General of the International Labour Organization, Gilbert F. Houngbo.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the efforts of the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution in providing healthcare facilities to workers and their families. Additionally, she noted that the Punjab Labour Code 2026 has been implemented following approval from the provincial cabinet.

The ILO Director General praised the substantial increase in grants dedicated to the welfare of workers.
