Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif commended the provincial police force for significantly reducing crime in the province, even bringing the crime rate down to zero in some districts. Addressing the graduation ceremony of Punjab Regulatory Authority officers, Maryam Nawaz Sharif specifically thanked the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar for their services in improved security and public protection.

The Chief Minister highlighted the remarkable turnaround in areas once plagued by high crime rates, citing specific districts where hundreds of crimes were previously reported, which are now enjoying extended periods of peace without any recorded criminal activity.
